Today I'll share scenes from my sister's holiday house*. As you enter the front door you will be greeted by this wonderful Williamsburg arrangement of green apples which my sister picked from an orchard in Elijay just a few days before she made this delightful arrangement. The boxwood she grew from cutting that she snipped during a trip to Williamsburg years ago and nurtured into a new hedge that frames her front entry.
On the buffet in the dining room, a trio of scented candles bundled with gold french ribbon are surrounded with magnolia leaves from the trees growing in the front yard of her historic home. The birds nest borrowed from the bird sanctuary outside the breakfast room window will be returned after the holidays to be recycled next spring. A little bling is added with the addition of hand blown balls purchased at Hobby Lobby last Boxing Day at 75%off, but since my sister had a coupon she paid only $.25 each.
The traditional sign of welcome, the pineapple, greets everyone who enters through the back door and invites them to partake of Christmas goodies or a little citrus fruit from the island. Notice the tree in the breakfast room window and the Christmas plates lining the walls.
The kitchen window is festive and welcoming to friends and family.
On your way out you must pick a gift from the gift tree for friends of the boys.

The soldiers are out again this year guarding the goodies in the kitchen.
The square pottery barn style wreaths are the only addition to our decor this year.
Did you have an orange in the toe of your stocking? Our Santa must have forgotten. He must have been very busy this year and pushed for time.
*Just a little fun with my sister who said I could use her pictures if I made her sound " good".
