It Came In The Mail Today

We received an invitation in the mail today to the graduation of ..................

. ............AMANDA!!!! Class of 2010.

My niece, Amanda - "Pretty in Pink" . Love that movie. Love that girl.

Amanda and her prom date looking "Pretty in Pink"!

This is the girl I love, not Molly Ringwald. (But I do like Molly and I like the horse.) I must include this one for the boys. Bennett and Hannan will be most impressed that you had your picture made with a horse. Congratulations Amanda. I'm proud of you and love you a lot !!!

Little Fishes ..............

Little fishes in a brook,
Daddy caught them with a hook.
Mama fried them in a pan,
Then I ate them like a man.

Happy memories of a Mom who had a little saying, song, or poem for every occasion and a Dad who loved to fish. And loved to eat fish.

Uncle Tolly ( Daddy's brother) came to bring grape vines to share and to fish ....

....................... and stayed for an impromptu fish fry. And he ate them like a man. One that I remember well.

Spring Walk

What do you get on a beautiful Spring day when you put two little boys on a trail through the woods, sprinkle charred twigs along the path that need to be thrown into the pond and allow time to throw them?

Two happy but very dirty little boys ..............................

Blur .............

If this blog is in any way reflective of my life, it is very appropriate that it sometimes skips segments of time. My life seems to jump from Monday to Saturday or more likely from Friday to Monday. Does yours? In this case it was from February until mid April and everything in between is a blur. While these days may have become a blur, some hours were very long and memorable. Many of those days the hours from 7:35 until 3:35 spent in a classroom FULL of eighth graders were among the longest hours I have ever spent.

But by far the longest hours of this time occurred during the early morning of March 12 after John called to inform me that my BFF Carol Ann was being wheeled into surgery to remove part of her skull. Carol Ann's brain was swelling due to a major stroke she had suffered on the morning of March 9. Surgery was a success and on March 19 she was moved to the Shepherd Center (in Atlanta), a non-profit rehabilitation hospital for people with catastrophic injury for rehab where I have visited as often as possible including a great visit today. She'll be coming home soon. More on that later.

We have had cute smiles, heard cute quotes, celebrated a couple of birthdays, skipped over others, and had happy times with little ones and had other note worthy visitors. I hope to share those soon.

See ya soon!
