Celebrating Wes
Wes came to visit his cousins ..........................
at the Manor House down the lane from Still Waters......
and play on the water table......
and we all ....................
ate ...............
corn .............
(Except Mal - the blur above - who is like an orchid and lives on air!)
( And Brooks who does not know how to eat but was just happy to be there.)
and celebrated Wes's graduation from UGA.

Can You Put Your Feet in the Sand?
Bennett and I were playing in the sand box .............
with our cars and trucks .............. building roads ......................
getting stuck in the mud.......
rescuing ourselves from the mud.
Playing with our cows and dinosaurs.
When Laurie came out on the porch, Bennett said, " Laurie, Can you come out to play with us? Can you take your shoes off and put your feet in the sand?"
So, we all three played in the sand .............. building roads ............. getting stuck in the mud ............ cows and dinosaurs fighting ........ then making friends.
Suddenly, Bennett jumped out of the sand box, ran over and hopped into one of my Adirondack chairs, gave us a big smile and said, " Can I just sit and watch? "

Enoying Art ............
Art Linkletter that is. Art linkletter was always an entertainer I enjoyed. I saw Art Linkletter once, right here in town. In fact at our local high school, before I even taught there. Art Linkletter's "People Are Funny" and the segment "Kids Say the Darnest Things" was a favorite when it was on the air, in the sixties I believe.
My favorite story was one I read from his book with the same title as the segment. He tells of how the producers would choose the children for the segment after interviews and he would talk with them very briefly a week or so before the actual shooting in order to get an idea for his trademark leading questions. One little boy who had been so talkative and funny during interviews was very subdued on production day. Art asked him if there was anything wrong and he responded that his dog had died. Art wanted to help the child's feelings and said that the dog was in heaven with God. The little boy quickly asked, " What does God want with a dead dog?"
I have often thought of this story in response to many situations. What would God want with my dead dogs?

Amanda's Graduation Day
My niece, Amanda Elaine, graduated last weekend ..............
............... from Thomas County Central .....................
And I took a lot of pictures of the side of her face.
And some blurry photos of the ceremony.
And just this one nice photo of Amanda opening a gift of her Vera Bradley pattern at her family party.
We enjoyed a great meal, great fellowship, and of course CAKE!!! And banana pudding!! YUM.
Congratulations Amanda. Enjoy VSU this fall.
The photography in no way reflects the quality and enjoyment of the day. My camera has just not been the same since it bit the cement at Hannan's birthday party.

No sand trap too sandy.
