Our chickens are now "free ranging" in the afternoons.

                   




























   
They are very happy ............




































and are now laying more eggs.

They always wander back to their coop about sundown.

If they don't ....

 ...... this black and white "mama hen" calls them in.

 Trying to get good contrast to show the blue eggs from our new chickens. We love our blue eggs. And our chickens!

Summer Solstice

What? Today is summer solstice? Half of the days this month have been 100 degrees or over. The local weather reported today that the lowest high this month was 96 degrees. Some Spring! 
 

 But we are dealing with this heat .........

 by playing with ice.

Happy, Happy, Fishing Day!

Jason entertained his dad for his birthday...... with a fishing trip ..........  right outside the back door.

Also fishing, Jason's  Papa ............ an uncle fishing somewhere.

Mid morning saw an increase in fishermen......

checking out the earlier catch.

There may have been trailer dancing until............

someone realized "Budder" was out in a boat.

Nothing a little cold water can't cure!

Papa and company caught enough to  .............................

 ......... feed the family that night!

 Then Jason and Leslie entertained ............

 and little boys were well loved the entire day.

And of course there was cake. WOW What a CAKE! Happy Birthday Larry. We all enjoyed your day.
