Tea Party

Carol Ann, my BFF, celebrated her 50th birthday this week.

She had dreamed of having a  tea party for her birthday based on a favorite childhood book.......

The Littlest Ballerina. So while we did not wear tutus, Carol Ann's table did..

The hostesses posing with CAE.  Great job girls! Thanks for all you did.

And one more hostess with us.

The hot tea in the afternoon is not normal for most of us ......................

but we watched and  learned from one another..... added sugar cubes and cream then drank our proper tea.......

Along with orange cranberry scones, ice box cookies, cucumber ( ham and veggie cream cheese) croissants, a sweet sandwich, and peti fours.

And enjoyed being with old friends.

What a great afternoon to celebrate Carol Ann's birthday, enjoy friends, and beat the after Christmas blues.

Happy Birthday Friend! Love you!

Thanks Wyo for making everyone's favorite cookies and the wonderful blessing. We were all BLESSED!

Almost forgot to share the trophy that Bennett chose to give Carol Ann for her birthday. He thought everyone would like a trophy!

Christmas at the Farm

Rogers family at the cabin celebrating with a low country boil ............. not our normal tradition for Christmas  .............. but of course we did continue the tradition of the fighting and stealing from one another in a Chinese Auction ............. just to finish off the season of love and good will.  All in fun of course. Great Christmas!

Saw this on a blog today:
" And we started doing that beautiful relationship building game where you open gifts but live in complete fear of your gift getting stolen by those with better numbers than you.  I mean really, nothing speaks Christmas more than the thrill of stealing or the dread of being stolen from. "

Christmas Traditions I

First Annual Oyster Roast at Jimmy's Park

A little fire, a little mud, throw in oysters ( and crackers) and all the boys are happy! Big and small. And girls too!

Then down the road to the neighbor's light display. Boys running to check out each display and trying to catch sight of the fish in the little pond. Laughing , dancing with Santa and even a little dog to play with this year. Thank you Barbara for your wonderful hospitality! These boys ( and girls) look forward to this visit as part of our celebration.

Boys exchanging gifts ..............................  Happy little boys!

Then others.  Great celebration! Great day! Great Shrimp and Grits of course. Our tradition.

Annual Christmas ShoppingTrip

Leslie and I had our 3rd annual " git 'er done " shopping trip, started the year Brooksie was born. ( Or second year here.) One last trip to finish our Christmas shopping. Pick up stocking stuffers. Whatever we need. Not so much shopping ......... as buying!

Our lists were coordinated and our route planned. Get in , get out. This year we had  an unusually beautiful day, unlike the cold and rainy days we have had the last two years.

.

We had a successful and fun day thanks to the DVD player,.....................................

the chicken nuggets, the Pez dispensers with Cars  figures on top........

and my telephone.

It was a shop til' you drop .......................or until you finish trip.

I hope Bo was finished ....... he was surely done!
