Expo Week

It is Expo week in Moultrie.

It rained all day today ......................

But all the farmers just put on their hats and kept walking and looking.

Sister and I were fair weather fans and rushed back to the car before the rain really started.

But not before we saw a lot of big wheels, .......

 a lot of good looking festival type foods. .....

and just a lot of happy people. Especially those eating ice cream.

A Perfect Fall Day

Over the causeway, across the marsh, .........................................

right at the foot of the bridge, nestled in the oak trees..............

on the back porch at Barbara Jean's ..................................

eating fried shrimp. .........followed by a stroll in downtown Fernandina...... a little people watching ( including a wedding party), a little gift shopping, then ..............

under the canopy ........................

back to our friend's great beach house. ..... a perfect fall day.

Scrambled Eggs for a Crowd

Our church was feeding the Packer football team one Friday morning and we needed to cook at lot of eggs. So I wanted to experiment with  baked scrambled eggs. Since B does an excellent job of cracking eggs ...

 he cracked them all , added the milk, butter, salt, and pepper. I poured the mixture into a greased baking dish and baked  for about 25 - 30 minutes. Stirring every 10 minutes.

Turned out great. The eggs were nice and fluffy. The next morning I baked about 12 dozen in the oven at church and we scrambled another 12 dozen on top of the stove. 288 eggs for 140+ people. ( with sausage, ham, grits, toast, biscuits, and breakfast casserole).

The Pack eats together every game day at a different church. It is a nice tradition. And yes, they did win that night.

The Last Friday of Summer

School has started ............ football season is well underway........

 

 Labor Day is only a memory.............

but today was the last Friday of summer.




What better day to enjoy a cookout ...........................

It is hard to say who was the happiest!

It may have been the lady in the last week-end of summer white pants. Good times!
